Happy Khmer New Year!

2014-04-14 08.24.07

“Chaul Chnam Thmey!” which means Happy New Year in the Khmer language, is being celebrated across the country from today April 14th until April 16th.

This festive holiday lasts for three days which is the end of the harvesting season, when farmers enjoy the fruits of their labor before the rainy season begins. You will find at the hotel entrance a table of offerings where our staff has placed candles, incense, bread, soft drinks, and other ceremonial ornaments to offer to the New Year Angel. This is where the staff gathers to light five sticks of incense and pray for happiness, health and prosperity for the coming year.
